    I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO ENCODE AVI TO MPEG 1 USING TMPG AND IT WILL ENCODE APPX. 10% BEFORE IT FREEZES THE SYSTEM UP, FORCING ME TO REBOOT. ANY IDEAS. I HAVE XP 2100 GHZ 784 RAM. PLEASE HELP.

    How big is the AVI file, also defrag that HD, turn off everything near the clock, like Antivirus programs, anything that needs to access the HD in the background, if that all doesn't do the trick, then update TMPGEnc, I don't use that program too much myself, there are faster programs on the market that works better and anyone can use it...

    1st Aare AVI to VCD, SVCD,DVD Converter v3.01, takes Divx, Xvid AVIs and more... Conversions is very good for VCD without those microblocks
    and Quick

    2nd MainConcept MPEG Encoder v1.31, basically the same as above but more complex like TMPGEnc Plus but just as fast for converting like Aare.
