  1. I was reading up on dual layer DVD-9 in the sticky thread, but I was wondering if anybody can suggest some good software/methods to split DVD-9s onto two disks using a Mac. I use DVD2One and Toast, of course, to burn DVDs, but I have no idea how to split and burn dual layers. Or, is there even a way to reduce the files to fit on one DVD-5, sacrificing a little quality?

I apologize if this has been asked recently. I did a forum search but didn't see too many Mac-based threads, so hopefully it hasn't been

Thank you very much for helpin' me out.

FOA, if you use DVD2One like you claim to be then you would know that its sole purpose is to squeeze DVD-9 discs into a DVD-5. This is one way of solving your problem.

If you want to span the movie onto two discs to preserve the quality, then ignore other threads in this forum and use DiscomVOBulator, which can be found here: http://www.kaisakura.com

    Both programs are shareware.

    1. Movie only copy using DVD2ONE. This essentially maximizes the video quality as it only takes the movie (no menu's, extras etc) and makes it 4.4 GB (since your DVD9's movie only files are probably close to 4.4gb anyhow its only a little loss of quality)

    2. Discomvobulator - splits a dvd 9 over two dvd5 keeping origional structure (but 1/2 of the movie is on the 1st and 2/2 of the movie is on the 2nd disk) so you have to switch disks half way though.

    OR
you could by a dual sided DVDr (4.4 on one side, 4.4 on other side) burn to both sides of the disk (part 1 on top, part 2 on bottom) and just flip the disk when you get to the 1/2 mark. THis keeps it on 1 disk, but they are more $$.

Really? This is a MAC FORUM. If you did a forum search while in the mac forum you would get nothing but mac answers.
