The ffdshow codec/filter will decode just about every mpeg-4 varient.
Download and install the latest alpha ( fairly safe ).

do i need to un-install any of the codecs i allready have or just install the new ones over the top?

um, you can use vdub, save the audio as uncompressed, then use tmpgenc to change to dvd compliant mpeg and use the uncompressed audio as the source (and recompress it to cbr mp2)

so strip the audio then encode the video on its own and then join the encoded video and the uncompressed striped audio together. If this is what you mean what do i save the audio as when i strip it with Vdub?

in vdub, go to full processing, then click on audo> compression "uncompressed (pcm)". then file > save as wav.
