  1. Well I'm trying to copy a vcd of mine in nero and when I try I get this error. Was wondering what I should do about it, I have no idea what IDE buses are or how to assign the different drives to different buses. What is it I should be doing?

dont copy the cd 'on the fly' should be a checkbox right before that step.

your trying to copy the cd in sametime when both drives are on the same channel/cable.

copy to an image. then burn image to blank cd.

  3. you can burn it like that, but there's a greater chance of data being lost or corrupt.
the error is just saying that both your drives are on the same ide cable. so, the data is read down the cable and written up the cable, in essence. yah, i dunno if that makes sense, but it'll work. just click burn anyway.
    poop.

  4. alright unchecked the box, that seemed to take care of the problem. Thanks. I'm pretty unfamilier with nero, just started using it.

  6. how fast you burning....perhaps, you're getting buffer underruns...try burning at 4X max...or maybe even slower.

otherwise, just open windows explorer and copy the avseq01.dat file from your VCD disc into your hdd. you can load that .dat file into nero's VCD template and burn yourself another VCD. this isn't as simple as a 1:1 copy, but it has less chance for errors.

Do you have a spare plug on your other IDE cable? Hook the other optical drive to that making sure you ajust the jumper settings on the optical drive if needed. This is if you have a spare spot and not running two hard drives.
