Hey everybody i have got a big problem: creating a DVD. first let me tell you what media and software i am using.

    MEDIA
    Verbatim DVD+RW

    SOFTWARE
    Ulead Moviefactory

now my problem is this. i have three VCDs and i did these steps:
    1) Used Isobuter on the files for all the three VCDs
    2) Ran Moviefactory and added the files to the list
    3) Created Menus and stuff (not significant i guess)
    4) Tested it (worked)
    5) On OUTPUT SETTINGS, i only checked Record to Disk
    6) The recording speed was MAX and the burner drive was correct
    7) In BURNER ADVANCE SETTINGS, i unchecked Quick Eject
    8) Then i hit OUTPUT
    9) It was doin its thing and it was taking a long time so i let it do its thing over night

then there was an error i forget what it was but i am gonna try again and then tell u what the error was. if i have done anything wrong please tell me. or please just help me out. thanks.

When you used isobuster did you select "extract but filter m2f2 frames only?" After that you still need to change the file extension to .mpg manually.

BTW, Don't you need to change the audio from 44.1 to 48 KHz?

I WAS ABLE TO DO THIS BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO A CERTAIN PART IN STEP #3 CAN ANYBODY HELP?

Use Isobuster to copy the video from all the SVCD/VCD to your HD (If you already have your files in MPG or CUE/BIN format you don't have to use Isobuster) .
    1. Choose your CD/DVD Drive
    2. Locate the MPEGAV(VCD) or MPEG2(SVCD) folder
    3. Select the mpg or dat files and right click and select Extract but filter only M2F2 Mpg frames. Save as filename.mpg.

how do i save the file as .mpg after i Isobust it?
and what does this mean: SVCD/VCD to your HD
and how do i do it?
    please help.

Just to make sure...Are you following this guide?

For step 3: When you right click on the .dat file a box pops up and you select "extract but filter m2f2 only frames" and when you do that another Extract File dialog box opens up, in that box you select where to send your extracted file and you can give it a name (in the file name area) with the extension .mpg.

SVCD/VCD refers to either a Super Video CD or Video CD, depending on which type of disk you are extracting from, and HD is the hard drive (or hard disk) in your computer. That's what Isobuster is doing, converting the .dat to mpeg and saving it to your HD.

    Good luck!

P.S. The second step in the guide says that Moviefactory converts the audio for you so you can disregard my comment about that.

yo zip we have a little problem, i had let Moviefactory do its thing, then it was like stuck on FINALIZING VOB... for like some time, i dont know cause i had to go somewhere, and when i came bak, i said this in a little wondow: You need a CD-R/RW to burn a (S)VCD disk image file. Please change the disk first, then try again.

wat does this mean wat do i have to do? i followed the steps perfectly.

  19. Read that error message again. Pay particular attention to the first sentence, and to the type of disk that you have in the drive. Then perform the suggested action in the second sentence of the error message.

I got error messages too when I tryied to burn directly with moviefactory. Try having it creat the video-ts folder instead and burn with you dvd burning program. this worked for me.

Hey FT shark, that is an excellent idea thank you s much, i will try that and tell you the results. thanks again.

  24. JCOAJ!

The error message states you need a CDR/W. You have a DVDR/W in the drive.

You need a blank CD, that is, NOT a blank DVD, to burn an SVCD image.

I would highly recommend some time spent reading some of the guides and documentation files available.
