You could be right. This looks like the Polaroid DVD recorder with an additional 40 Gig drive. Guess I'll have to ask Malata directly...

Weird though, since it's listed under the DVD recorder part of the website. Now you've got me confused!

Yeah, looks like you're right. It IS a DVD player with a PVR. They don't have a DVD recorder out yet. I checked their chinese site and their translations into English are misleading. I'm wondering about the HDVD-H2 which is not for sale here. That unit apparently can dupe a DVD/SVCD/VCD to the HDD and output to a TV (not specifically said but you'd think then you could copy to another format via a computer or a standalone DVD recorder). Guess that one won't be here for awhile...
