I was the creator of the largest THREAD in VCDHELP.com history
anyway i wanted to know that if a DVD player doesn't support vcds or svcds
but they play dvd+r
will it work if I burn a vcd or svcd onto DVD+R media
basically ive sort of forgotten if its considered a vcd if its burnt to a dvd media

I would read the guides and check the database to the left <----
*All* of your questions are answered there or have been answered many times in the forum already. -
i understand about the guides snow ive been using this site forever
i just got a dvd burner and now i am utilizing and exploring things that i normally could not do
i looked through the guides and i see nowhere where its stated the answers to my question
i think it would have been more sensible for you to answer my question and then rant off about the guides like im some noob
anyway if anyone care to answer my question w/o negativelty
i would greatly appriaciate it

Hmmm.... not in the guides?
https://www.videohelp.com/author
About 1/3 of the way down the page. -
uhhh well thanks snow i sort of stand corrected
but i had read over that but it didnt answer my question directly
so i guess that i have to convert the mpeg1/mpeg2 file to dvd-format
for it to work on dvd players that do not support vcd/svcd
thanks -
You can also check the DVD player database for DVD-VCD and DVD-SVCD compatibility in specific players.

Try this: https://www.videohelp.com/vcddvdr.htm
and this: https://www.videohelp.com/svcddvdr.htm -
thanks a lot yall now thats the love i was looking for
i went to the specific dvd player which is a Broksonic DVCR810
it says it doesnt support dvd-vcd or dvd-svcd
so what i should do is convert the mpeg1/mpeg2 to dvd to get the movies to play correct????

Remember that vcd @ 29.97 fps IS part of the DVD spec, even though 23.976 is not ( those PAL people get all the breaks
)
Yes you will have to convert all of your video to mpeg-2 at 720x480 or 352x480 DVD compliant.
Or you could get a DVD player that supports everything, with the prices these days it may save money and agrivation in the long run. -
thanks alot snow
actually its for a friend who wants to watch some o fthe movies i make
i have an apex 1100w
i love it plays everything
