  1. I have an ASF movie file ( recent movie ) which I cannot play thru Windows Media Player #9 or any other player I have tried. I have downloaded all the latest codecs and still nothing. 2 Questions....What do I need to play this file ? & will I be able to encode to Mpeg with TMPGEnc so that I can view it eventually as a VCD thru a DVD player ?.

I just want to view it first....so that I can see the quality. I cannot even produce an audio file with Goldwave at the moment....because of its ASF format.

I have tried a few ASF converter progs but nothing seems to work so far. I have even tried the tools area within this site....& had no luck either.

    Please Help !!!!

  2. You might try http://www.eo-video.com/ and see if it will convert for you. It isn't the best convertor out there but it might help you to get the .asf into another format.

    just for your info though

    tmpgenc wwill encode asf files.
stoik video converter will convert asf files
windows moviemaker will open asf files.
asftools will fix broken asf files
if none of these work you have a fake file.
