I'm looking into buying a Cendyne/Verbatim DVD drive, but under system requirements, it says I need an AGP card.

What I'm planning to do is make DVD movies from my VCR, like the VCDs I've been making. Wouldn't it be possible to capture with my WinGo TV in AVI, convert to MPEG2, and then have the burner make a DVD?

Also, I looked at an AGP card at Office Max, and it didn't have an RCA composite, so how would I hook up my VCR?

    Thanks,
    George

You can go ahead and use whatever capture card you want, so long as your regular video card feeding your monitor is AGP.

Why that requirement is there when you'd think the video out has nothing to do with burning DVD's, I don't have a clue...

The AGP requirement probably has more to do with the software bundle that comes with the drive than the drive itself. I'm not too familiar with your TV card, but it mostly likely is possible to use it to make good quality captures and MPEG2 conversions. You might possibly have to get some new applications to support the WinGo TV though (e.g. VirtualDub). As you read this, just look at the menu running down the left hand side of your browser. In the green "HOWTO" section, click on "Capture". This will give you lots of reading material to get you started.
