I have just converted a film via TMPGEnc to re-encode and ulead dvd factory to author.
The format is NTSC and the film is approx 2hrs 11 mins long.
When I re-encoded and burnt to dvd all the film is there (I can confirm this as I watched it) but all my dvd players inc my pioneer 105 via power dvd show it as only approx 105 mins long???
Where have I gone wrong or is this a usual fault!
BTW I have done the same process a number of time for a PAL film with no problems???

I am no expert but I think that the MPG file store the header information at the start of the file. Perhaps it has stored the wrong infomation, e.g. the source type might be store as PAL but the FPS information in the NTSC equivalent (29.96 fps).
Does the following information make any sense:
Actual Film Length = 2 hr. 11 mins, i.e. 7860 seconds
a) Total frames stored in the header as per PAL secification = 7860 * 25 = 196500 frames
b) Film length calculated by the player (as per NTSC frame rate) = 196500/29.96 = 6558.745 seconds = 109 minutes
I am totally guessing by the way.
But then, if you are confirming that the full film exists and you are able to watch it properly, then why bother? 8)*** My computer can beat me at chess, but is no match when it comes to kick-boxing. ***
