I have a DataVideo DAC-100 to capture VHS and LD to DVD. Some of my VHS tapes are hi generation and cuase frame drops with the DAC-100. This happens when there are what seems to be tracking errors on the tape or abrupt edits. Would a TBC generate a stable video signal to the DAC-100 to keep from dropping frames on these types of tapes?

I have the same problem, even with tapes that seem to be in good condition.
I believe a Yes & No answer works here.
Sure a TBC would be your next step, will it fix all your problems... It will solve a lot of them but, I would say you will still have problems here & there.
When you weigh the price of the TBC (est $ 300) against how bad you realy want these tapes transfered to DVD... I think you will find your answer.
Mine was, No.Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.
