install odio dekoda for ac3. tmpgenc will then be able to handle it.

  3. Use this guide for the audio:
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=160649
Then use the resulting wav file as the audio input when you encode. Or convert this wav file to mp2 and multiplex with your mpg.

  4. i think i just had an aneurism looking at all those pictures.

    i have an easier way.

    in nandub:
    open avi -> save wav

    in CDex:
go to convert-> Strip the RIFF-WAV header
go to Convert-> Convert compressed audio file to wav.

    in virtualdub:
join the wav with the video.
(direct stream copy on audio and video)

    easy.
    poop.

  6. VirtualDubMod has native AC3 support and can demux the AC3 properly from an AVI.....no need for CDex or any other tools except for VdubMod and TMPGEnc........jesus.

funkyuv: Can it convert directly to wav also?? I could only demux to ac3 with it. Streams->Stream list->Save Wav and Demux seems to do the same thing.

If you do it aas Sav WAV, then I think it adds a RIFF WAV header, which some software messes up. Also, I would rather use software that has a good reputation to encode my MP2 (such as BeSweet). However, to each his own.

  11. suggestion for you is to use dvd2svcd and then use the avi option. You can set everything up with a few mouse clicks and then let it run. It'll save yourself some of the hassle of converting using separate tools (and knowing the ins and outs of each one).

  12. DVD2SVCD doesn't give as much control as doing it from VDub to TMPGEnc manually!

  13. How do I know how big the delay has to be....I have tried counting from where a person speaks to when the sub apears, but that was way to long....

  14. Load the avi in Virtualdub
    Save the wav as title.ac3
    Load the title.ac3 in PX3
    Save as title.wav
No delay no nothing perfect wav!!!

or you can do like i suggested above. since i installed odio dekoda, i am able to use tmpgenc for avi's with ac3. i use the video and audio from the source avi in tmpgenc and never have a sync problem. of course, that's after you've checked for and removed bad frames using vdub mp3freeze.

  16. In TMPGEnc go under options and go into Enviromental Settings. Click the VFAPI plug-in tab and right click on Direct ShowMultimedia File Reader and highten it to 1. Try this and see if it will help. It worked for me.
