I was trying to burn miniDVD on 99 min.CDR to use it's 850MB capacity in mode 1(990MB's in mode2). But I dicovered that burning programs like Nero or NTI CDMaker will only see these 99 CDR's as 700MB disks. They see them as 990MB in mode2 for SVCD.
I came across a program called Mode2CDMaker which converts a mode 1 file into mode 2 apparently by padding it up in size to mode 2.
I took an 850Mb VIDEO_TS directory and ran it thru Mode2CDmaker and it converted it into a 977MB mode 2 bin file.
Burned it with Nero as an image file. Nero recognized and overburned it.
PowerDVD recognized it as a DVD and played it.
I put in my Sampo 612 and it recognized it as a DVD and played it normally. But my Cyberhome 402,which plays miniDVD,would play it in a funny slow motion only.
Mode2CDmaker does work but the DVD player may not play these mode 2 miniDVD's.
