The title says it all... I want to put both an MPEG1 and an MPEG2 on the same DVD. It's a 352x240 1500k CBR MPEG1 and a 352x480 3600k VBR MPEG2.

From what I'm reading, each MPEG format/resolution needs its own VTS set, or something like that. It's a bit confusing. However, that's not really the most important part...

I'd like to know which programs can accomplish this. With the exception of Scenarist and ReelDVD, I either have most other authoring programs, or I know people with the ones I don't personally have (and I'll just do the work at their place). However none of us have ever tried to put different MPEG formats (or even different resolutions) onto the same DVD.

I thought SpruceUp could do it, but it refuses to import the MPEG1.

    Please help... thanks...

Good to know, but I'll save that as my last option. I need menus.

Okay, I read the guide, but if I used it to make the VTS titles, if that's even the proper way, the guide stops before telling how to place the items into another authoring application (though it mentions it briefly). I've never used SVCD2DVDMPG, so not sure what kind of files it will put out. If it makes folders with IFO/VOB, would DVD-Lab take the VOBs and not give problems?

I'm no dummy, but this is new territory. Took long enough to learn the stuff I already know. More help please. In over my head on this one, can't do it alone.

Using TMPGenc Author, I'm able to burn on the same DVD-R disc both mpeg 1 and mpeg 2 from various valid for DVD framesizes. BUT: not at the same track!

    I use a different track for all my 352 x 288 stuff, another track for 352 x 576 and another one for my 720 x 576 files.

I believe that I was also able to burn together at the same track mpeg 1 and mpeg 2 @ 352 x 288. But I wouldn't do this overall, better use seperate tracks for mpeg 1 and 2 for possible compatibility reasons

I don't know if that is what you want....

TMPGEnc DVD Author supports separate VTS(called Tracks in TMPGEnc) so you can mix mpeg1 and mpeg2 with different resolutions(you can not mix ntsc and pal though because it is not within the dvd standard).
