    Hi hope someone can help.

I have a problem home networking my laptop from work.

I run XP Home on my PC which is set up for Internet Connection Sharing into which I connect my laptop via a crossover Cat5 cable. Everything works okish, I can access the internet, copy files back and forth etc. from my laptop EXCEPT the following strange situation:

When I am browsing from my laptop some sites do not open, specifically google.co.uk, google.com, yahoo.co.uk and uk.news.yahoo.com.

I've checked everything I know, cleared IE history and cache but no luck, what the hell is the matter??

    Thanks in advance

    Jukka

I could be wrong about this, but I was under the assumption that a crossover Cat5 was only able to connect two comptuers locally - not supply data from an internet source such as a cable modem or router (for which you would use standard cat5 cable and go from source to computer directly)

    Almost right.
The xover cable is directly connecting my pc to the laptop, i addition I have a DSL connection that runs off the USB port (almost all do over here in the UK), this is shared using XP ICS which affectively then allows other 'networked' PCs to access the web - sometimes!!
