How can i make an SVCD from Media Player Files on my comp?

How can i make an SVCD from Media Player Files on my computer, because i read that SVCD had better quality, so can anybody help me and can i do it with NERO? How would i create an XVCD?

You won't get better quality with files you already have. Everytime you convert, or encode, you loose quality.

depends on the source.

crap in = crap out

if the media files you have is of crappy quality, then all the info is already gone. you will not gain any quality whatsover by converting to SVCD. in fact, the quality will get worse as SVCDs requires higher bitrate to look good, but the source has low bitrate. all you're left with is a bigger filesize and lower quality SVCD.

it only works if you're source is of higher, or equal, quality than what you're going to convert to.

i.e. DVD->SVCD .. and perhaps, SVCD->VCD ... AVI->(S)VCD is also quite common.
