  1. I have had many people tell me to buy the "branded" Ritek disks...are they referring to buying disks that actually are listed as Ritek and not the knock-off branded media that might be Ritek once you dig down and see if the cheapo company is buying them from Ritek?

Can anyone verify that the disks at this link are good to be real Ritek G04s? Sorry, I am fairly new at this...

  2. Branded riteks are the ones that say RITEK on the surface. Just not the ones with silver tops.

    Such as these http://www.meritline.com/neriri2xdv4b.html.

As far as I know they don't make branded G04s yet, I could be wrong though.

  5. Yeah they say Ridata on the top. The unbranded ones are silver and shiny and annoying to write on with a sharpie. Branded ones are more of a white-top with Ridata written on them in the clear center plastic.

I have not seen a difference between the two to be honest and I have ordered "RITEK" discs and received both from the order.

My recent order of 100-pack were branded but my last 100-pack order was unbranded, I did not have an option to choose.

    Both orders were from RIMA.com

Branded Ritek that show up as G04 on Dvdinfo. I've been burning them for a few days now and have had no problems. Using Nero they show no problems with verification after burning, even past 4 gig.

  8. I have read that Ritek is pretty much the brand of choice, and I am happy to pay $1.25-$1.75 per disk. That isn't the issue...I just want them to work.

My issue is this: I see a bunch of people saying to buy the Ritek media, but to ONLY buy the branded ones...that is, media with the Ritek logo on them. Problem is, all the websites I have visited don't have pictures for me to verify this. Finally, I also see that there are Ritek G03s and G04s, but there are also Ritek Ridata G03s and G04s. Can someone explain the difference, and tell me who to look to and who to avoid, as well as where to buy them and how not to get some crappy grade B stuff?

I would be so thankful, as I am an anxious new user...

I just bought 100 of the disks from your link. They are shrink wrapped with Ritek RiData on the wrap and RiData is embedded in the center of the hub. Both these and the Ritek (without RiData) are identified by DVDDecrypter as Ritek G04. They are great disks. Have had zero problems with them. The only difference I can see between the two is that the Ritek (W/O RiData) are shinier than the RiData which have silver matte tops.
