Shared Borders is greyed out in Front Page 2003.
How do i get it to let me put them in.

More info???? Have you added the pages in navigation view and can not add a S/B to a list of pages???
I use a navigation bar in a upper frame on page and bring all others to the main frame, I really like the look. But a shared border should be added in the navigation view if I remember correctly.
Example:
Use a quick load page for speed, then a link to the main page.

As I understand it you will need more than one page to do this. As you add pages to your site you can add shared borders via the navigation view [no need for S/B with one page]. I do not think you could do this if you only have a index.htm page because you can not share with only one page?? As a test add a few pages save and then try it. It may also be necessary to publish before you use shared borders but you can do that privately on your local harddrive.

for some reason you have to enable them in the options menu's under sharepoint services.
seems kinna dumb. anyway, problem resolved
