how to apply subtitles ...

Hi I want to know if anyone in this board know how to add subtitles to the movie ...I need instructions. Thanks

there are a number of guides explaining how to do this.

I have been working with anime episodes, so these are a bit more complex.

Assuming you are doing a dvd rip, then use subrip to get the subtitles off the dvd saving them in ssa format, MaestroSBT to convert them to sub format, then WinSubMux to add them into the mpg stream. This has worked well for me, that it has.

If you are doing modifications to the movie, then the subtitle timings need to be adjusted as pieces are added or changed. I havn't found a good tool for this, MaestroSBT has a section for adjusting time, but I can't get it to work correctly. I ended up writting a small c program ot handle all my adjustments.

If you do not have a source for the subtitle, then you can create your own ssa file then add them in, but I never tried it myself.
