    Greetings all,

Does anyone have experience converting and burning an mpeg file extracted from a TiVo?

I have been successful in the extraction from my TiVo to my Mac, and can play the resulting mpeg file just fine in QuickTime Player.

However, I am stumped on how to convert the file using ffmpegx to burn as an SVCD.

Any help and /or pointers would be great.

    Thanks to all!

    Jim

  2. I am thinking of getting a Tivo/ReplayTV how do the mpg files look? Quality wise? Does it save a mpg1 or mpg2 files?

Sorry to not be able to help with your question, but thanks for the feedback.

Major, will assist you when he has a moment, he is excellent and cares about his software. Good luck!

As far as I'm concerned, it looks pretty good. It's mpg2 format, with the audio set to 32khz. The bit rates can vary from 5.8Mbps (Best Quality) to 1.47Mbps (Basic Quality). I think that if the mpeg is deinterlaced, it will look better. I have trouble figuring out what the other settings will do.

I'll read through the online manual, but if anyone has already been down this road, I would sure appreciate some tips!

    Thanks again.[/quote]
