    Does anybody know how to burn a avi(divx) file on a disc without converting first to mpeg then burning it?

    if you want to create a VCD, VCD, DVD etc, then the current anmswer is NO.

    Of course if you just want to play it on your PC then just burn it as a regular data disk.
