  1. For some reason the subtitles are displaying the parameters in which they should be displayed as well as the actual subtitle. this is the ONLY .srt file that works with this video without producing an error message. for some reason it will only display a .srt file if it has been converted through "ssa2srt.exe"

    whats wrong?

    What's wrong???? Well, if you would tell us a little more it would help, for starters. What are you trying to accomplish, what are the source files you are using, and what have you done so far. Now do you know what's wrong?

  3. i should think what i am trying to do is rather obvious. i am just trying to subtitle this Xvid film in english.. i used the ffdshow thingy in order to get subtitles on the film.. however unless the .srt file comes from converting a .ssa file through "ssa2srt.exe" the subtitles are not displayed, but if it is a .srt file converted through "ssa2srt.exe" then it displays the other shit seen in the picture above.

    unless the .srt subtitle file has come through this application "ssa2str.exe" windows media player will "perform an illegal operation".... the details of this are::

  4. never mind... i opened the subtitles file in notepad and are manually editing that stuff out.. itll take about 4 hours but its probably easier
