Is it possible to put a MPEG-1 file converted using TMPGEnc, onto a DVD Disc (that'll work on my DVD player) without having to re-encode it?

    Cheers.

  2. Yep, VCD resolution mpeg-1 at up to 1.85Mbits is valid for DVD. The audio must be at 48khz sample rate tho. Take a look here:https://www.videohelp.com/dvd and scroll down to the Technical info bit.

If you're lucky, you can even put the mpg file without any alterning directly onto a DVD ISO disk like mp3 or jpeg). If your player can do this, you save a lot of time,Try this first with a DVD RW.

I've got a Philips DVD-Recorder which plays anything I wing it's way, so maybe that will play it. I'll try on a DVD-RW first of course.

    Thanks again.

You can't use Nero standard if you want to make a DVD-Video that should work on most DVD Players. You must author it, www.dvdrhelp.com/author#dvd and www.dvdrhelp.com/tools.php#DVD%20Author

That's right for most players, but you can use NERO in ISO mode anytime, if your player supports direct mpeg files.I just tested that yesterday.
