I know this is kinda a TX type hi-jack but I also fought firewall usages re: sygate, McAffe, Zone Alarm and others. I am now using Norton Internet Security and will continue to subscribe from now on all problems gone!!!

    Doggiedaddy: thanks for your reply

i guess the thing is that you have to find the best one that works with the system you have, for me that seems to be sygate. i guess i'm a newbie at this kind of thing. i have had to format the old HD roughly about 6 times in the last 6 months. i am getting really sick of that

If you are on some form of highspeed connection, have you thought of a hardware solution? Linksys and D-link make a decent solution. Not familiar with any of the others.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  6. I am using Kerio (free for personal use) at the moment. You can download it at www.kerio.com

In my experience Zone Alarm interfered too much with the running of programs and Norton Personal Firewall was too buggy.

Just to add to the Kerio bit being the best firewall out there, uses very little resources, unlike zonealarm which eats everything up.
