  1. I just burned an XVCD by folloing the guide, and burned it with Nero, when I play it on my Toshiba SD 2800, there is no picture, the audio is there but no picture.

Could this be because of the video resolution? I think i selected 720*480 as recommended in the guide, but it also said "if it works with your player" how do i find out what resolutions my player can support?

You are not looking for a particular resolution, you are looking in the DVD database for your player vs. XVCD (CD-R). Had you completed the Computer Details section, I could have done it for you.
    Hello.

It may be Nero. Have you tried to burn it with VCDEasy?

No, have not tried that yet, I was merely following the guide, still a newbie when it comes to conversion. If something goes wrong than what is mentioned in the guide, I am clueless as to how to fix it.

Yes. You need to keep your resolution set to 352 x 240, but up your bit rate. I own a Toshiba SD2800 and I'm able to play XVCDs burned with either Nero or VCDEasy. I've used TMPGEnc Plus to encode at 352 x 240 with bit rates up to 5000 kbps. I successfully played XVCDs authored with VCDEasy, Dazzle DVDComplete and Ulead Movie Factory.

Early on when experimenting with XVCDs, and using CD-RWs, I tried different combinations of resolution and bit rates. I found that anything with a resolution different from 352 x 240 would not play correctly.

  7. Thanks a lot, that solves a lot of problems. I am going to buy some CD-RW's and experiment with other resolutions, if they don't work, gona go back to what you mentioned. Good to know that it supports Xvcd's, can't wait to burn one tonight.
