I used VitualDub 1.5.4 to extract the WAV file from a DIVX file. The WAV file has a background hiss. What's the best way to remove the hiss? FYI, I have used GoldWave in the past - does it have this functionality?

    Use shape
Lets you manually create an envelope shape or select a preset shape. See Shape Controls
for information about creating shapes. By setting a horizontal line at about 75 dB, you can remove a hiss from a sound.
