I've got a Sony TRV 27 miniDV camcorder. Had a terrible time getting it to capture. I've used VideoStudio 7, Scenalyzer, Pixela, ... all stop within 20 seconds or so. Swapped hardware, you name it.
Recently I tried DVIO and it captured just fine. I'm assuming I've got a capture driver problem. Can someone help me troubleshoot?
Thx,
Rich

Not a full system restore. I downloaded the most current DirectX, Windows Media encoders, etc.
Another hint. When using VideoStudio, if I select AVI as the input type it switches over to DV. DV stops within almost instantly. Device is listed as Sony - MSDV. -
That's strange. I have the Sony TRV-25 (a similar model) and the software you mentionned works with my camcorder. Ulead VideoStudio 4.0 did not recognize it but version 7.0 did.
From the digital camcorder's menu, did you enable DV out?
I can't think of anything else. The drivers are only necessary for the USB connection. Anyways, they get installed when you install the Sony Pixela software.
You can also try DVapp (freeware capturing program) to see if it works.
