  1. Hi,

When using Clone CD to copy a VCD from my hard drive onto a blank cd, every 3 rd disk fails with the message, No sense information then some numbers like (4:0:0).

Does anyone have any ideas why this happens?

Also when running any burning program my whole PC slows down loads. I have a 1.8ghz, 60GB, 256MB PC and when clone or nero are running it is impossible to open any other folder due to the slowness of the pc.
    Any ideas?

Im only using 10GB of the hard drive and cant work out why it has slowed so much.

    Thanks

    Richard

the problem with your computer speed is due to cpu usage, burning cd/dvd's requires a lot of resouces and it is not recommended that you try to perform other tasks whilst burning (read the help files for your burning software they will advise you of this) if you continue to do other tasks whilst burning it will most likely sooner or later caurse buffer underun problems and you will burn coasters.

As for the clone cd problem when the error occurs can the same disk be read ok after you restart your computer if not the problem is with the disk you are copying if yes then you have a real problem and i suggest you contact (email) elby they may be able to help or at least explain the error code to help you figure out whats caursing the problem and maybe you can solve it yourself using the information they provide (remember to include all the error codes in your email)

If you must do other things on the computer while burning, then I suggest burning at a lower speed. At 8X you should have enough computer resources for some simple tasks like surfing etc. without causing coasters.

  5. I have just tried burning a cd at speed 8 and i was able to surf etc. i have also done 4 in a row and no errors. It seems the lower the speed the less coasters!!

One other thing though - any ideas why, now after doing this for over a year my pc has decided it cant handle burning at full speed and multi-tasking. - It does seem quite strange.

the answer to that is that you have probably installed more software over the last year, many software applications run in the background (they are running even though you are not using that application) this uses up system resources you can stop most applications from running in the background by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE (all at the same time) select the application that your not using and click end task, you will need to do this several times to close all the applications that you are not using.
You can also get programs that will scan for applications that are running in the background and allow you to close them all with one click although i dont know the name of any of these progs but they are available just search google or similar search engine
