  1. Hi
    I'm trying to copy a burned divx movie file from disc to my other pc. Half way through it gives me an error message that it can't read from the device...Games and audio files are no problem to copy and paste,,,only movie files give me this error....Am I doing something wrong with burning those files.(they are buned as dat files) Any help would be great!

    you're sure they're divx??? .dat files means it's VCD, not DIVX.

    can you play the movie on your comp and standalone DVD player?

    It's a Divx...I ment that I burned it as data file. The file plays on my pc with no problems...just the copiing part won't work. My dvd player doesn't support avi files...only mpeg.
    Still haben't figured out how to get it on my pc...it does it with all my movie files...no problem with games or mp3s. I also tried it on my other pc and it won't do it either...
    any ideas??

  4. Sounds like it might be a media problem. The CD that the file is on may be to bad to copy from, but the Divx player may just skip the bad section when it's playing.

    Try making another CD with the same file and see if the problem still exists.
