Try to encode the video before giving it to Nero. An encoder like TMPGEnc may work for you.
Hello. -
tried
everything worked fine
used
tmpegnc to encode
tmpegdvd to make ifo and vob files
sent to nero, burn went fine
went to play disc in sampro dvd player (work horse plays everything) it loaded and stopped.
tried it in my memorex still didn't play
on a whim i tried to play it on my computer using windvd and it loaded and stopped
am i missing a step here?
using dvd-rw media could this be the cause?
or am i really missing a vital step?
any help?????

Have you scanned the AVI for bad frames with Virtual Dub?
Hello. -
Could be your media. You can try burning onto a DVD-R and testing.
Also, drop your VOBs into DVD2AVI. Save a project file or just scan through and see if they all look and play fine.
