  1. I am trying to use dvdlab to author my mpeg2 video. My mpeg2 file is half D and audio frequency is 44.1hz. I use dvdlab to create the vob files. But the output vob files do not have sound, and some vob files just cannot play. Anyone can help?

  2. I am by no means an expert, but from what I have learned and from your question, it sounds like you are making a DVD, right? Well one problem with the sound I believe is that you need the sound to be 48khz to be compatible with normal DVD playability. I think by transcoding your 44.1khz audio to 48khz audio you may fix your problem. I'm not sure but I think you can do this with a program called Goldwave. Well I hope this helps.

  3. DVDLAB has an option to transcode audio.

    Tools-->Transcode Audio

  4. I think that is possible. But the problem is, I try to transcode my original mpeg 2 file, but it always says cannot access the file.
    Is it because this transcode only works with mpg audio file only, but not mpeg file with both video and audio?

  5. You don't want to transcode the MPEG2 file, you want to transcode the elementary streams. In this case, let DVD-Lab de-multiplex the MPEG2 file into a video(.m2v) and audio stream(.mpa) and then transcode the audio(.mpa) portion.

    Give that a shot and see what gives.

  6. Yes, I tried to demux the file with dvdlab. But the problem is, after several minutes, the demux process stops and there is an error saying that the frequency of the audio is 44.1hz, and I need to transcode the audio first. So I am locked up in this position.

  7. You could also try TMPGenc to demultiplex the MPEG-2 file. Then with the audio stream, transcode with whatever. Then mulitplex them back together with TMPGenc. If you have already done so, and that didn't work. Maybe one of the experts here can better help you out, than I. Good luck.
