    Hi,

    I have just tried to join 2 avi files using virtualdub, but when i try i get the following message;

    "Cannot append segment: The audio streams have different sampling rates - 16864.00000 x 16865.00000"

    It is 1 movie split into 2 parts.

    Does anyone know how i can change so they both have same sampling rate please?

    Thanks in advanced

    Someone may have a better way but here's mine:

    1. Extract a wav file from each segment, I use Goldwave.

    2. Import the wav file back into each segment and save using Vdub.

    3. Join the files.

    If you need more details just ask. 8)

    Hi Zippy, thx for the reply!

    Sounds good, but i have never imported a wav into a film before using VD, could u please give me some instructions plz. Extracting the wav is not a problem.

    Look forwards to your reply.

    Open the file in Vdub, under audio>wav audio and select the wav file created earlier. Set both audio and video to direct stream copy. Under file>save avi.

    Do that for both parts and you should have compatible files for appending.

    Good luck!

  5. If the AVI files are consecutive, you can open teh first one, and append the second one. Then, do fuill processing mode in audio tab, File -> Save WAV. Then, Audio -> WAV Audio. Load your WAV file. This should be one long video/audio stream made from your 2 source AVIs an the decompressed audio. FRAMESERVE AND GO!

    That would work except for the following problem:

  8. resample the audio in each file so its at a constant bitrate.

    set video->direct stream copy
    set audio->full processing mode
    set audio->compression->mp3 128kbit/s or whatever.

    hit save as.... then save it as like.. NewAVI1.avi

    do the same for the second half, then try and combine the NewAVI halves.

    im sure there's an easier way to do this, but.. converting the audio only takes like 3 minutes (for me at least) so it's just as quick.
    poop.

  9. Ching, this is kinda off topic, but the audio conversion is more hard drive intensive than anything else, so it'll be like 3 minutes for most ppl. MINE TAKES 2.5 MINUTES!

    Thx for all the replies peeps, appreciate it.

    I tried saving the avi with seperate Wav audio, and avi size doubled when finished saving!

    So then i tried resaving the file and compressing the audio with MP3, but highest rate i could get on VD was 56kBits/s, 24kHz, Stereo. Would have thought 128, 48 , stereo would have been available?!? I did click show all formats also.

    Not sure wot else to do...

  14. Actually, sorry for being so screwy, but my copy got installed with the Nimo Codec pack. DO NOT INSTALL THE 2 CONFLICTING AUDIO CODECS AS THEY WILL MESS UP YOUR SYSTEM AS MINE WAS!

    Here's a link:

    hmmm....i have tried nimo on my PC before, and it didnt like it for some reason... ....some video files wasnt playing and sound was cutting out......cant i just install the lame audio straight into VD folder?

  18. No, you can't. Why don't you just install only the Lame MP3 codec from Nimo?

    I have just found the Lame MP3 on my PC. It is already installed and being used by a cd ripper prog called EAC. why isnt it showing in VD?

  20. Lame can be installed as either an ACM or a DLL. Yours is probably installed as a DLL, so you still need to install it from Nimo.

    I dont seem to be having much luck with this, dont know wots going on here?!??!

    I tried with source audio aswell as seperate wav audio, same error!

    I have got the BesweetGUI, but have no clue on how to use it??

    can u give me a few instructions plz.

    thx

  26. Click BeSweet. Since you're kinda noobly (sry) at this, just pick one of the DSPGuru Profiles at the top right. Then, Click 2LAME at the right middle (in the bunch o' buttons area) and change the bitrate as needed.
