Do you have the path set correctly for the dll or for the besweet.exe file? I think that may be part of it. It may be correct, but you may need to specify in the program itself where to find the exe and dll.

BeSweet is one of the worst AC3 encoders too (may give you a tin-can sound on the audio).
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  4. You need to get the AC3enc.dll and put it in the same directory as Besweet.exe

At least that worked for me.

Do you have data to back that up? I've experimented with Besweet and SoftEncode that came with Vegas Video4. Besweet is every bit as good. In fact, with my tests with SoftEncode, it would only create usable ac3 @ 192kbps or 5.1. Whenever I tried 224 or 384, it had volume so low it was unusable. With all fairness, Besweet had a minor skip when encoded @ 384, but was perfect @224. I think if you follow the Besweet guide on this site to the letter, you'll be fine.

I've just completed a Baseball dvd for my son's baseball team and distributed copies to all the parents. I used Besweet to create the ac3's and it came out perfect. I asked for feedback if anyone had problems playing them. Everyone reported the dvd's played perfect. I don't know what players everyone had, but there was at least one PS2 and one X-Box.

    Just my 5 cents worth.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

  6. Yes, i've placed the the ac3enc.dll in same file as the .exe app file, as well as into the 'system32' folder (Win2000). Originally, the damned thing wouldn't work b/c it said it couldn't find the hip.dll file---but again, that driver is in both folders, as well...

(b/c i'm at work), can someone tell me how to completely uninstall BeSweet (is there an 'uninstall' app, or do i just delete the folders)??

I could easily make a nasty AC3 for you. It tends to produce audio artifacts, as the program lacks any kind of error control or anti-aliasing filtering. It works for some people, but not all, or even many on AC3. I give this as a warning anytime somebody complains about BeSweet. Sure, I wish it was better, but it's not.

  8. Guys/Gals.. this is driving me crazy! i cannot figure this out.. I even uninstalled and re-installed.. But BeSweet continues to act funky..

Most recent error simply says, "BeSweet has generated errors...will shut down/close/restart...".. ??

    Anyone? thanks.

    Try this:
open besweetgui and click on the AC3/OGG/dts button. Lookfor the "ac3 encoding options" box. If the "endians" radio button next to motorola is selected, change it to intel. I hope this helps...
