  1. If one is using the correct media with the correct burner are there any issues. I was told that 4X doesn't burn as good as 1X or 2X and that there was a lot of studies on this. I was looking for information on this subject.

People were claiming exactly the same thing when 4X CD Recorders came out. Now that recorders burn at 52X nobody seems to remember the issue.

I remember another nice one about 20 years ago. Turbo Pascal is too fast for some (low quality) clone PCs. It will burn their memories.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

    Certifiable bull-plop.

As long as the disc has a WRITE STRATEGY to burn at a certain speed, it should be fine, given that the media is decent.

Bad burns is normally due to balancing issues, either from writer problems or crappy-made media. The "burn slower" technique is just a workaround that doesn't always work. In each case, a better drive and/or better media is needed.

I have Pioneer drives, and use only good media. Burning at high speeds is why I have them, and the output is fine, just as good as a 1x, but a heck of a lot faster.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.
