Unicorn "Playing With Light" -
1-import video and audio to the Assets
2-drag the video from Asset bin to the Movie 1 window Then I Drag the Audio
3- then i add chapter points
4- then i open menu i don't add back round yet just text play movie and scene selections
5- i drag movie 1 into play text
6- then i click on the Wizard button on the Main toolbar and from the menu select Add Scene Selection Menus
7- then i add templates for my chapters
8- then i drag scenes 1 for Movie 1 to the "Scene Selection" text
9- then i drag my video into menu 1 to make motion menu
10 then i press complie dvd to run it thru i make a dvd folder instead of burning straight to dvd-r i burn the audio and video folder instead .
but it goes straight to the movie instead of the motin menu with the play buton and scene selections i made -
in step 9, when you drag video - what video are you dragging? is it Movie 1, or is it a short clip?
as I understand, you need to prepare your video assets before you import them, so you'd need your background clip already prepared - it sounds from your description like you are dragging your main movie and trying to use that as a clip.- housepig

in the Connections window, click on the Plus sign (+) and draw a line from the First Play button to Menu 1.
if that doesn't do it, try to set up the disc with a regular menu, instead of a motion menu, and make sure it's the motion menu that's messing up the routing. If it all works fine with a non-motion menu, then we know what the culprit is.
And just to make sure - your motion clip is in the background, and your scene select images are all static, right? I'm pretty sure that DVD Lab will accept a motion menu with moving images, but it won't author one - you'd have to create the background & superimposed clips in something like AfterEffects or Vegas, then import it and add buttons, text and links.- housepig
