Hi, I am new to this forum and I an having problems with audio and video. They are starting out in sync and in the middle they are way out of sync.
I am using Roxio Videowave Movie Creator, coming in from Mini DV as an avi file, then editing a little and hitting "make movie". then you choose your destination source and i choose "dvd playback" which makes it a small medium or large MPG. Then I can burn it to dvd.
But lately the video and audio have been off at points. I will note that the first few times I did this they were in sync, but now they're not.
I saw ways to fix this on this page, but I don't have the program that they were using...
so my 2 questions are:
1. is there any way to fix this in Roxio: Videowave Movie Creator?
2. what causes this to happen?
thanks.

One last thing. When I am editing and I drag the avi file up to the timeline, that is where the audio is off. If I view the timeline it starts off good and then gradually gets worse. So it seems like it's actually before I convert it to mpg.

It could be that your avi files fps is not quite standard buy this i mean instead of say it being 23.97 it might be 23.99 or instead of 25fps its 24.99fps. So what you can do is use VirtualDub check file if this is the case then you can use virtual dub to fix it...Buy changing fps to the norm for example 24.99 change to 25fps. Then after that you can use say Tmpgenc to convert to mpg file
