  1. I bought [yes bought with my own money,legally] a dvd with the wrong region ,,,ugh...[an import obviously]...how the heck do I change it so i can watch it on my DVD player
    I have the files ripped and am trying to figure it out

  2. the easiest would be if you could make your dvd player region free...

    however, if you can't, then when you're ripping the DVD using dvddecryptor, there's an option for it to remove RC and RCE region protections...

    after that, the files will be region free and you can encode/convert/burn them to whatever you want.

  3. the files are pdi...i dont know if that makes any difference, I thought that would have had something to have to do with why it doesnt work in a regular dvd player

    I know that Pinnacle's Instant Copy uses .pdi to designate an DVD image on the hard drive (Pinnacle Disk Image file?). Perhaps that's what you have. If so then you could use Instant Copy to burn the pdi to a standard DVD.
