  1. Im using Mediastudio 7 and I have put som clips in the videotracks and one audiotrack in the top audiotrack. When i watch the project in "instant play", the sound is there but when I render the project there is no sound(when i move the bar across the clip I here fragments off the audio but it stops when I stop moving the bar).

    I have just started to use the program and i think i havent "touched" any settings........What can cause the problem?

  2. To hear audio, one must match project settings to the attributes of the video/audio in the timeline.

    For example, one should begin a DV .avi project with files that exhibit the following properties:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    Microsoft AVI files
    24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
    Field Order A
    DV Video Encoder -- type 1
    DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

    Then, one should set the project settings to be identical to these properties.

    One can adjust the project settings by clicking FILE > PROJECT SETTINGS.

    Also, here are the settings that I prefer for the PLAYBACK OPTIONS.

    1. In Video Editor, click PREVIEW WINDOW MENU button;

    2. Click PLAYBACK OPTIONS;

    3. If you are using a DV camcorder to edit DV .avi video, then set the HIGH QUALITY PLAYBACK drop-down option to DV camcorder;

    4. Set the PERFORMANCE LEVEL slider to 3.

    5. Check the DISABLE AUDIO CACHE and ENABLE MULTI-THREADING boxes;

    6. Set the MULTI-THREADING SLIDER to 0.

    This assumes you are connected to a DV camcorder via Firewire and that your DV camcorder's analog outputs are connected to an external TV monitor.
