  1. I'm using DVDlab (love it) and when I strip out the wav file in virtualdub, it is too large and my movies can't fit on 1 disc. I'm tryin HeadAC3he but can't conver to mp2 and I can't find any .dll file to install to get this to work.
What are my choices when working with original avi files in extracting smaller size audio?
    Thanks

Have you tried TMPGenc for encoding? I use that to encode, audio and video - it outputs either an PCM or mp2 audio stream.

d\l besweet from the tools section, extract audio from .avi with vdub as usual to a .wav file then encode with besweet to .mp2 or .ac3 and import as audio asset after encoding the video, to dvd lab
    .m2v=video
    .mp2 or .ac3=audio

  4. Thanks, I've heard so much about Besweet but I thought it cost $$$ and am trying to save a few $.
    I'll give it a try.

It was free last time I checked. Download the GUI too. You may still have to download the individual EXE files too (i.e. azid.exe, lame.exe, etc, etc)....

  7. From others advice I have besweet and am trying to convert my large wav file to either mp2 or ac3. It says is saved the file but dvdlab says it's corrupt or doesn't seem to be mpeg audio or bad header. So I wonder if I am missing the 'encoder'. I'm a little green here so I'm not sure if I'm missing the dll file or something else to make this work. I've tried changing the extension to mp2 but that didn't help.
Please tell me what I need and where to get it.
    Thanks

If the directory you have besweet in looks like this then you should be fine.
    and check this out:

    http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/ac3tomp2.htm

if your inputfile is a .wav, just hit the drop down to highhlight .wav so they're visible
check the guides on besweet on this site or at www.doom9.org

  9. So that explains my problem. I'm mising
    lame.exe
    ssrc.exe
    ssrx_hp.exe
    toolame.dll
    toolame.exe

I have looked for alternate versions of this program but they are all the same. Other than a google search, where might I get these files from.

Mucho thanks for all your time.

I think if you go to the besweet website:

    http://dspguru.doom9.net/
and go to "Stable Version" you'll find what you're looking for, as for lame.exe and toolame.exe D\L them here in the tools section
