hey guys,
Ok so I want to convert a divx movie to vcd. However this divx movie must have a some bad frames or be corrupted. It plays the whole way through with media player but when trying to do something with it in virtual dub, like save the audio, it will stop where this bad portion lies. I tried using divxfix, however every time I try to run that, It says the file is copy protected. Is there a work around for this copy protection?

Go to http://www.divx-digest.com and get virtualdub program called vdub-mp3-freeze, load the file, go video>check for freezes, when done, go to the file c:\badframes.log and delete those frames in Virtualdub

thanks buzzinhornets... I followed your directions and I do have a big chunk of bad frames... However I looked and can't find how to delete frames... do you or someone else know how to do this using vdub

If you use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" it makes a log of the bad frames on drive c
You can then select "Go To" and type the start of the first lot of frames, hit 1 keyframe back. mark start.
Then use "Go To" to go to the end of the first block, hit 1 keyframe forward. mark end
press delete
save, re-scan new save
