Recording Error, DVD+R

I can't burn a DVD+R. Have tried two brands PHILIPS, VERBATIM and Nero and Record Now and both generates a error: "Recording Error". My burner is a Memorex DVD+RW/+R

PS. DVD+RW works perfectly

May be the media. I hear VERBATIM sucks, and haven't heard anything about Philips. I have that same drive and never have problems. I use cheap Ritek media, both +R and +RW

Which app. do you burn with?

I use the Verbatim +R's and have not had a single problem with burning on my NEC 1100A. But I do agree that you may have a compatability problem with your particular burner.

Try to update the Recorder's Firmware before attempting another coaster. Most 2.4X recoerder will hiccup on 4X media.

4x media is the same price as 2.4X. I burned a 4X +R on my HP 200i before the update, and i got the same error, but then again I wanted to experiement to see what would happen. After the updated firmware, 100% compatable with all brands.

By not giving the tech specs

1. Make and Model of the Recorder (ie HP 200i)
2. Brand , Version, and max Record speed of the Media (ie Verbatim DVD+R 4X)

The problem could be anything, by giving any specs related to the problem you can help resolve the matter quicker. I am not complain. We learn as we go.

People, people just because something sucks for you does not mean it sucks period. I've burned every type and brand and can only report that one sucks and that the k-Hper something brand that Office craps sells that is marked data only. They put it on sale all the time but people just don't read like I did once. But then again it only sucked for me. Maybe not for you.

Exactly. Its not the media its the firmware. The 1.27, 1.38 FW dont work with lots of DVD+R (they`re good with +RW though).
1.51 WORKS WELL for me.
Ricoh just came out with 1.64 that I already flashed my Memorex with, but I suggest you wait till Memorex release it .
Its a little tricky to flash a different firmware.
