i have a lite-on rom and a pioneer 105. when trying to copy a dvd using nero, on the fly, the dvd burns but when i try it in my player or on my computer there is nothing on the disc ?????? there appears to be something burnt on the dvd but nothing recognises it. its as if the lite-on doesn't read the original but the 105 burns a blank session

When you select File-->New and the Compilation screen comes up, if you select the Burn tab, does it look anything like this:

    Hello.

Make sure your burner is the selected drive and not Nero's image burner.

  4. I don't use Nero for d2d copies, but you should use the 'DVD Copy' mode, seems to me.

i do use dvd copy mode and my pioneer 105 is selected as the writer. an image is burnt onto the disc but it appears to be blank. i also have easy cd 6 installed, could this be causing a conflict??? (the reader dosen't seem to be reading the original while the copier is writing)

    What does that mean?

Oh crap! Are you trying to make a copy of a hollywood DVD?

You do know they're encrypted, right? You can't make a copy "on the fly" using Nero. You have to decrypt it first.

i'm trying to make a copy of a copy. the writer senses the size of the session and burns a blank session of that size on the disc. the reader dosen't initiate and read the track throughout.

certain dvd copy programs prevents you to make a copy of a copy...for legal purposes...

i.e. dvdxcopy implemented "security features" one of which is to prevent you to copy the copy...to be more in compliance with DMCA and not piss off the MPAA even more.

I've seen this in previous post, but I will have to respectfully disagree. Any copy can be copied. Before I typed this, I ran off a perfect bit-for-bit copy of a DVDXCopyed disc. Its as easy as dragging the VIDEO_TS folder to the desktop and then burning it back to a DVD+/-R. If you're in a hurry it can be done on-the-fly. I think the origin of this belief is a statement made by 321 Studios that *their* software could not be used for copying copies.
