Should I buy an External Pioneer DVD drive that is USB 2.0 built in for approx $290, or just buy an inernal IDE version to put into one those cheapo USB 2.0 enclosures I already have?
External is $273.
Internal is about $235 ($205 for drive + $30 for enclosure).
Question is whether the enclosure that comes already with the External version is of higher quality than my cheap $30 one?
Or shoudl I just not bother and save the money and go for internal?

I personally prefer the Pioneer External drive but I did not know they are already out in the market. Which on line store is selling them?

i found out that meritline.com is just putting the internal versions into their own aluminum cases.. so they aren't pioneer cases. I'm just getting the OEM internal 106 fro $203 (free shipping) and trying it in my own case. If it doesn't work, i'll go buy their case in the end which will cost me $3 more overall.

I bought my 105 and installed it into a firewire case I got off of newegg.com, zero problems. Actually it was originally a 104 now its a 105, the case has been great. I think I got the case at the time for about $60.
