  1. What now?!?!
I've always applied subtitles with VirtualDub (making the .vdr-file) and then encoding with TMPGEnc. I haven't done this in a long time and now all of a sudden it doesn't work!!! The VirtualDub-process goes just fine. However, when I want to load the .vdr-file in TMPGEnc, it won't accept it (u know, unsupported etc). Have I forgotten something along the way?? I follow the exact steps of the VCDhelp-guide (as I always have!) but now it seems that the PC-gods have decided that it mustn't work anymore!
    Please help!

PS. I've tried a bunch of different versions of TMPGEnc. DS.

try this: go to options and then environmental settings, and then VFAPI Plug In and then right click on any of the things there and put reset to recommended settings, this might work.

As I pointed once, there is a bug in the Virtual dub which is when your original avi file has spaces in its name or it is too long (not sure exactly) then the vdr file is unreadable. I had this situation many times. The problem solves, when you rename the original avi file to something simpler, for example film.avi

let me know if this is the reason in your case.
    Best wishes,
