I always have this little problem at the encoding part using TEMPEncoder. It would encode "many" times. It will start with CQ value of 80, then 93.25, then 93.55, then 93.85, then 94.15, still doing it as I write this post. Did I do something wrong? Or is this the way it is? When will it stop? I think this is the reason why it took hours to convert from DVD to SVCD or VCD.
Thanks for all the helps

The first time I used DVD2SVCD, I left the setting in TMPGEnc on CQ too and it did the same thing. (I guess it is trying to figure out what bitrate will work best for the movie???) It was an animated movie and it turned out great but since then I use '2pass Variable Bitrate (VBR)'.
With 2 pass VBR, TMPGEnc will pass through the movie and analize it on the first run then encode on the second run.
My computer ALWAYS takes hours to encode to SVCD or VCD.
I am in the process of backing up SE7EN to SVCD right now and TMPGEnc has been encoding since 11pm last night (it is now 7pm the following evening) and it still says it lacks 2hrs and 16mins just to encode!
