  1. Im dying here attempting to fit my files into a DVD and all i need to do to fit it perfectly it take out the credits at the end of the movie (worth like 20% of the files size).

Can someone tell me what program i need to edit (meaning cut out entirely that chunk of the file) such a MPEG/AVI file, if such programs are free, where to get them and of course, how to do such a thing...i know im asking alot but when im this stuck ill do anything (and yes, ive looked and could not find the answer on this site first).

  2. If its an mpeg use TMPGEnc and use the merge and cut tool. Select the portion of the file you want to keep using the mark in and mark out buttons on the timeline and save it as a new file.

If it is an AVI file use virtualdub, Select the portion of the file you want to discard using the mark in and mark out buttons and hit the delete button, then save as a new avi file. Make sure you have direct stream copy selected for the audio and video or it will reencode.
