  1. Hello...

    I need some help. Everytime i try to encode a DVD with TMPGEnc i get a read error about 1/2 way through encoding. I use smart ripper which works no probs, then DVD2AVI which works no probs but when i encode, It will go for about 30 min (at random) and then fall over.

    any advice or anyone else had this problem.

    Cheers

  2. HD set to turn off after 30minutes?
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

  3. I checked that, My HD never powers down.
    AND it seems to happen at random times - sometimes 30min sometimes 48.4 min etc etc

  4. 1) does this happen with a particular DVD or w/ all DVDs you tried to encode?

    2) are you overclocking in any way? heat is a major concern when encoding for long periods of time. try taking off the computer case and having a fan blowing directly at your CPU.

  5. I don't have any overclocking - and i think from memory i have a CPU fan and a case fan.

    Doesn't seem to matter which DVD i try to "backup"

    Cheers

  6. ive seen this problem on a mates laptop when using tmpge cause if your using an demo it only allows for a curtain time frame of use,,,Are you also using a cracked version cause i am yet to see a version work past expiry date,,
    Does it come up with SERIOUS ERROR warning? it does that when the mpeg2 is expired,,,
    Try using cinema craft encoder as this is really good but i preffer Canopus procoder
    good luck
