Hey, I'm usin' Forty-Two to convert my DVD to a .avi file. While it's prossesing I like to check the movie w/ quicktime. The video looks great...however, it would be nice if some audio accompianied it. Any suggestions as to why there is no audio?

If you are using QuickTime to view the AVI file you will not have any sound. Please try players like VLC or mplayer which you can find on macupdate.com or versiontracker.com

ok, cool. BTW, why is that? Is it because the audio is mp3 which can't be read by QT?

no the audio is ac3 which cant be played in quicktime, quicktime has no problem with mp3

Ok--I download Mplayer and there is still no audio. I clicked the info button and it said VIDEO--XVID AUDIO--N/A.
By this I take it that forty-two didn't extract the audio....so now what...? -
Nevermind....it;s just another one of my utter brainless mistakes. I found the problem and fixed it so all is well
