  1. Hello,

basic question here. Why does captured video always show a thin distorted line on the bottom of the video??? You know, like it's all scrambled and as if the tracking is screwed up.

How can I get rid of that? The only way I have been getting around it is by cropping with Premier or something of the like, but that slightly distorts the entire image as well. THere has to be a way of capturing the video without getting that messed up line.

    thanks ahead of time,
    ress.

if you are going to play the capture back on a TV, you can probably not worry about it - most of that area is going to be lost once it's played back because it's outside of the display area of your tv screen.

if you are going to play it as a computer file, you can crop it out - as it's only a few pixels high on average, it shouldn't distort your file too much.

  3. housepig,

any idea why that happens though? and yes I am going to brun a cd so cropping for now is the only way to go.

    thanks,

If it's off of tape then it's a matter of poor signal tracking/stability. It's a common problem that can be solved with additional costly hardware. Do a search on TBC ( Time base correction ) to see how it's fixed.
