what is the correct format of a basic VCD????

Hi i'm a newbie here..... but i have loads of questions to ask...
please i'm begging that anyone who wants to help me, explain
your answers to me as if you are explaining to a child...i'm not that good
at computers as in... literally...

anyway...
basically i need help on creating a vcd
i dont know what are the tools...
(i have VCD gear, ISO Buster please tell me what else i need)

i just recently ordered copies of vcds from the philippines...
i tried playing it on oritron 200 but it failed. so it copied it to a regular CD-RW and punch in the secret menus and worked really good on my DVD.
well... my question is...
#1.) how come when i copied the whole CD to a CD-RW, it worked fine on my oritron 200... however, if i just burned it as a data file to the CD-RW, it didn't work....

#2.) when you open a regular VCD what/how should its format look like??????
this was how the VCD that i got looked like....

#3.) is there any possible way that i could watch avi on dvd player???
or how could i put an avi file into a vcd format?
should i just convert the avi into mpg and then burn it as a data
and then play it on the dvd player?
